Minature Landscape

This is a small piece - only measures 10 1/2" square including the frame. It has dimensional trees and a dichroic moon. Something this size can be displayed in a window but it also is quite effective just displayed on a small stand like the type you might use to display a plate.

"Apple Pickin Time"

These first two photos show this piece without transmitted light - it is only lit from the front but that allows you to see much more of the dimensional quality.

This small piece incorporates two different types of dimension. The tree and the flowers are all quite dimensional and show well both with and without back lighting. Glass enamel details are also used. The size is 16"x20" and the frame is cedar.

Golden Tree Vase / Moonlit Tree Vase

These are just another version of my trees! These vases are small - just 5 or 6 inches tall. The trees go all the way around the outside of the vase so the image is multilevel when you view them. The trees are quite dimensional and both have metallic detail.

Golden Trees

Trees - trees - and more trees!!! I said I was hung up on trees. Sure hope other people love trees as much as I do. This newest piece is 16x20 inches and has a cedar frame. There is dimensional glass - much of the glass is clear although that is not always apparent in photos. There is some metallic gold in the trees too.

"Mighty Oak"

Here is another in my recent series of Oak trees. It measures 16 x 20 inches and has a cedar frame. The live oak is dimensional and another layer of glass was added with the shorter scrub oak in the foreground.

My Hummer

This new window features a beautiful little hummer! There is glass enamel details and also multiple layers of glass on the flowers. The frame is pine and measures 20"x 28". The one photo taken at an odd angle (actually ALL my photos seem to be taken at an odd angle!) shows how light coming through the image casts color and sparkle.

"Texas Sunset"

This is the newest sunset piece. It measures 24" by 36" and has a cedar frame. The background trees (Gamble Oak) are created using the glass shard technique and in addition very small glass glitter has been applied between the two layers of glass to hint at the sunset colors as the sun is receeding. The tree trunks are reverse painted with glass enamel.

"Standing Watch"

This is my first new piece in a month and I have really missed my glass! This measures 20 inches by 28 inches and has a pine frame rather than the cedar frames that I usually use. The tree is dimensional - made of glass shards. There are several different types of vintage jewels in this piece including some cornelian glass that creates the circle. I have also used glass seed beads to fill just a few of the seams rather than the usual grout. You may be able to see them in the detail photos.

Texas Traditions

This new piece contains many of the Texas images that I love. There is the representation of the flag colors and star, Bluebonnets, Indian Blankets, and Indian Paintbrushes. It measures approximately 24" wide by 36" tall. The colors are actually brighter than shown here - didn't wait to photograph it in the sun!

"Hill Country Sunset V"

Another variation on the Hill Country theme. This piece will be shown at Studio 2600 in Dallas, TX. It measures 24" x 36". The dichroic sun changes from red to orange to yellow to pink depending on the angle you are viewing it. Also with only reflected light it is silver!

3D Yellow Rose and "South Pasture Sentinel"

The dimensional Yellow Roses and Bluebonnets are a small commission piece just completed.

"South Pasture Sentinel" is also small - measuring about 16 1/2" by 22". The oak tree foilage is created using small glass shards and is very dimensional. The circle surrounding the tree contains faceted jewels and also diamond shaped iridized black glass. The reflective colors in this glass do not show well in the photo.

Navaho Inspired

This new window was inspired by an old Navaho rug design. The colors are actually more like the second photo - the background is shades of gold and does not have the green cast that the first photo shows. It measures 24" wide by 36" tall and was made using both new and vintage stained glass, glass globs, and vintage glass and crystal jewels. It is very dimensional because of the faceting in the jewels.

Majestic Oak

This is a small window - measuring just 16" x 22". The image is multilayered and includes painted details as well as additional glass layers. The border surrounding the focused image was designed to look like a fringed rug. When I cropped the photo I left the window ledge exposed so you can see how the glass casts colored reflections.

Fall Colors

This window measures 24" wide by 36" tall. The leaves have been painted with glass enamels and there have been a small number of additional leaves added to the surface after the piece was completed. Today was very overcast so there is not any sparkle to the photo but as you can see the image is very colorful!

Hill Country Sunset IV

This is another in my series of
Hill Country Sunsets. It measures
24" wide by 36" tall. The colors
are a little more subtle than in
some of the previous versions.
The dichroic sun reflects as red,
magenta, yellow or silver
depending on the angle of the light shining through it. The distant oak trees have been created using a new technique of glass painting and the addition of glass shards.

Texas Mockingbird in Flight

This window depicts a Texas mockingbird in flight. The photos show it with both light coming through it and reflected light. Although the background pieces are all either clear or gold in some of the photos the iridized clear pieces look like they are blue, green, yellow, and pink. In person that effect is much more subtle than displayed here. There are various glass jewels and shaped glass leaves in the surrounding vine. This piece measures 20" wide by 28" in height and is framed in cedar.

Remember The Alamo!

This window measures 24" wide and 36" tall. It includes many of our most well known Texas symbols. There is the Alamo, the yellow rose of Texas, the Texas star surrounded by the colors of the Texas flag, and our wonderful bluebonnets. The sky area looks blue but is really iridized clear. It is being held up against the blue sky for the photographs.
