Glass on Glass Mosaic Classes - Weatherford, Texas

I teach glass on glass mosaic classes. The classes meet for 2 Saturdays, 4 hours each day. The classes are held in the old Firehouse/Gallery in Weatherford. The cost is $100 and this includes all instruction as well as materials to complete an 11" x 14" window. I also offer mosaic tools and supplies for sale to those who would like to continue this great hobby! "O'Keefe Remembered"

Being a long time fan of Georgia O'Keefe I wanted to do a piece that showed her influence. This measures 20"wide by 28" tall. The colors are more vivid than they show in the photos. The crosses are actually purple with topaz glass gems in the centers. The stripes in the rug are beautiful red tones.

Rodeo Gallery Window Installed

I have already posted this window on the blog but John was kind enough to send photos once the Historical Commission allowed him to remove the original 6 pane window and install it permanently in place. He lights it from inside at night. This shows how much more effective the pieces can be if custom designed for size and permanent installation.

"Twining Vines"

This piece is a departure from my usual subject matter. It doesn't depict a "picture" or "scene" but is more design oriented. I am also continuing to explore the look of using smaller tiles and complementary colors.

Aspen Plates

This is one in a series of wooden plates that I have decorated with reverse painted glass leaves. The plates measure 11 3/4" in diameter. Although it is not evident in these photos, the leaves stand out from the surface of the plate and are very dimensional.

Harvest Moon

This window measures 20" wide and 28" tall. It depicts Aspen trees in a harvest moon. The moon is dichroic glass so you can see that with reflected light it looks silver but transmitted light makes it go from purple to magenta. I tried to restrain myself from using too many different colors in this piece. Glass colors are so beautiful that I sometimes get carried away!
