Here is a new piece that I have just completed. As usual - not easy to photograph! (Notice my reflection holding the camera in the first photo!) This measures approximately 11 1/2" square including the frame. Unlike all the minatures that I have been making lately, light cannot pass through this piece. The tree is created on a two level background (gold with a green mat) and the topiaries are on the surface of the glass which covers the tree. Once again, this piece has several levels of dimension.

I had promised to show photos of the Fireplace Screen when it was completed and here it is! I am thrilled with the work that the furniture maker did to complete the piece. This was done by Barry Bradley a great custom furniture maker from Fredericksburg, Texas. This piece will now be shown in the Texas Furniture Makers Show to be held in Kerrville, Texas in November. If you are in the area stop in and see it - I know I will! It is a great adventure to work jointly with another artist to complete a piece. I hope to do more of this!

These minatures are of both bluebonnets and yuccas. The flower images are created using both glass beads and vintage glass and crystal stones. Because the images contain several layers they change appearance depending on how much reflected or transmitted light there is available. The vase has the same type of yucca plants created using glass enamels, glass and crystal stones, rocks, and stained glass.

This is a group of vases that I create using beads, rocks, semi precious stones, dichroic glass, and glass enamel painted details. They create the illusion of looking through a group of trees since the glass is either clear or a transparent color. Some of the glass enamels have metallic powders mixed in before the image is painted.
